Set within a private enclave of courtyard buildings in a traditional Hutong area in Beijing, the Courtyard House is a daytime city retreat for an avid tea drinker. The art of tea is celebrated in this oasis of calm, with a curated collection of teaware and ceramics.

Traditional roof elements are lovingly refreshed with contemporary materials and washed with gentle lighting. The artwork and tableware along with the interiors celebrate fine Chinese artisanship.

Chinese shutter screen doors cast a play of shadows into the interior spaces. They open to reveal fine art and furniture in intimate lounges, dining rooms and galleries. A hand chiseled Chinese wall art adorns the full length of a lounge.
