Imagining the sales gallery as an experiential prelude to a journey into the surrounding gardens of the site

The micro-climate of Wuhan, with its landscape and garden, is the precedent to the core of the design of the Wuhan Sales Gallery. A meaningful and experiential walk between the show unit of the terrace house and the sales gallery enhances the garden experience. The link is translated into a garden filled with interesting follies. The elevated sales gallery serves as an observation deck allowing enjoyment of a landscape overview as a prelude to the garden journey.

Aligning with the warm tones of the timber-clad residential terrace housing units, the perforated metal fins are dressed in rich, reddish brown hues much alike that of corten steel.  Interspersed among the rotatable fins are dichroic glass fins that react with the ambient daylight and interior lighting to create a “living” colour-changing facade.
